BugzScout and FogBugz API Incorrectly Change Area on Occurrences

I'm using BugzScout and the FogBugz API to log application errors in our sites. In the course of using BugzScout, and tightly managing the areas that application errors fall under, we've noticed some of our work being undone. I'll start by quote a section of the FogBugz 8 XML API documentation under the cmd=edit/new section:

If any fields are omitted, they will not be changed.

I'm not, however, seeing this behavior during actual use of the API. Here are the steps that I'm taking:

Configure a new project with three areas: 'A', 'B', and 'C'
Create a new Case using the sScoutDescription field. DO NOT provide an ixArea field in the API submission. The Area will be correctly set to 'A'.
Edit the case through the website, and change the area to either 'B' or 'C'.
Cause a new error, using the same sScoutDescription. DO NOT provide an ixArea field in the submission. The Area will be incorrectly changed back to 'A'.

The behavior on line 4 above is in direct contradiction of the API documentation. I'd like to request the API be adjusted to not change the ixArea on an sScoutDescription submission through the API unless the ixArea field is provided.

Searching on a custom field

Hi,

My version of Fogbugz is v8 and I'm trying to use the API to refine results by a custom field that i've created, so far i've got the following:

But the API keeps giving me an error saying

Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?

There is an error in fogbugs:

Writing a case in German language causes an error if I write the German "Umlaut", meaning "oe is realy "ö".

Example: Writing "Da ist ein öffentliches Interesse an Politik." gives the result öffentliches Interesse an Politik. Da ist ein ".

Pressing the key "ö" lets the cursor jump to the beginning of the line.

I can reproduce the error at any time.

ERROR [IM002] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Hi all,

since this morning I am getting the above error. We set up the server just about a week ago and used it successfully until Friday. When I got in this morning it failed.

I checked the ConnectionString (as recommended)
ensured that SQL runs
verified user account and permissions
verified that logging in with that account and DB works
used database server's IP address instead of computer name

Then I thought upgrading to 7.1.18 might fix it. The upgrade included database upgrades that ran without trouble. Still, it wouldn't connect to our database afterwards.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks

Bug: Create new Case with Parent Case hangs

When I create a new case, filling in the required fields and then hitting "OK" it sometimes hangs. I dont know the exact actions that cause it to hang, but it seems to be when the new case is listed w/ a parent case which has many subcases already.

Oddly enough if I skip the parent case entry on creation it will create fine. I can then edit the new case to include a parent case and everything is(appears) fine.

Any thoughts?

I am running FogBugz 8.4.92 on our server. I installed Kanban 2.1.7.13 and now get a 500 error page when I click either Kanban link. The plugin admin page works fine. Here is the error message:

Kiln errors in 45-day trial in Fogbugz on demand

I just signed up for Fogbugz on Demand, and is currently inside the 45-day trial.

Every few minutes (or whatnot, I'm not certain about the exact interval), an error message pops up at the top of the site ("Warning: Some errors have occurred in your installation."), and clicking on the link presents this error message:

Edit: Apparently the message isn't appearing any more.

Kiln - Kiln is not responding. - Hide Notification 3/11/2010 5:51 PM (GMT+01:00): Kiln integration will be disabled until FogBugz is able to talk to Kiln. Please check your Kiln installation to make sure it is responding and, if not, contact your Kiln administrator.

I tried hiding this notification, but it came back a short while later.

Checking the on demand account page seems to indicate that the Kiln account is selected, even though I specifically signed up for a non-kiln $25/month account. Clicking on the Fogbugz account button shows a message beneath the buttons that says "FogBugz & Kiln are both free during your free trial.", and no change was done, so apparently that's not the way to handle it.

Is there anything I can do to permanently get rid of those error messages? It's not a big deal but as with all warnings and errors that are there all the time, soon I learn to just ignore it, and then when a real error message comes along, I won't know to click on the link to check out what happened.

Cannot View Case Attachments

Unexplainable Error Message

We've just set up FogBugz and Kiln and to test we are using 3 computers, let's call them A,B & C. When we access the /fogbugz directory via IE8 it works fine and we can login all as administrators but when we attempted to access the /fogbugz/kiln directory machines B & C worked but A got the standard .NET error about errors on remote computers. So we reinstalled Kiln and now it works for machines A & C and not B. I'm litteraly not getting the login screen when we access the \kiln directory.

was wondering if anyone has any ideas about this really weird issue. I've restarted everything.

It should be noted that this would consitently work for B&C yesterday and not A and after the reinstall A&C work and B refuses every time.
