Notify me when a case is updated while I'm viewing it

When you view the edit page for a case, if another user edits it and then you submit your changes, FogBugz warns you that the case has been changed and does't commit your edit. This is good to prevent some mistakes, but it would be much better if I was notified real-time when someone had made a change, while I'm viewing the case.

Order task for a resource within a scrum

I want to order the task for each resource within the scrum(milestone).

I don't want to use Project Backlog as it prioritize all task for the scrum. I want to do it for each resource.

When I edit a case and get the "edit not saved" message, everything but the event text is lost

Repro:

Start editing case 123
Edit case 456 and set case 123 as its parent. Save this edit.
Change all the fields on case 123 and enter "big changes!" in the event body
Hit OK on the edit.

Expect:

"Edit not saved" because the case changed while you were looking at it.
All changes still show (body text AND field values)

Actual: 1. "Edit not saved" because the case changed while you were looking at it. 2. ONLY body text entered is saved. All my important changes to other fields are lost! sadface.

Note: This includes attachments and regularly causes me to send emails with the attachment missing.

It would be great if we could get a action button to forward emais within the case list just like the reply button. For example, so that a person could select multiple cases in his list, and forward them to the same person without having to open each individual case and forward them one by one.

Often, information makes its way into cases that can make them misleading. It's also possible for sensitive information to be inadvertently introduced, either through email or erroneous case edits.

Some FogBugz users also want to be able to delete cases just as a clean-up measure.

Is it possible to delete cases or to delete entries within cases (a.k.a. bug events)?

In a previous bug track environment we used the following list of statuses to progress a bug through it's fix life cycle.

DEV IN PROGRESS

Am I right in assuming that it's not possible to get this kind of Granularity from the Case Statuses (Open -> Resolve -> Close) and that I should setup a custom field to achieve this.

My understanding is case numbers just keep incrementing across my entire account. (e.g. Case 1 was the default case in the inbox, 2,3,4 were cases in my first project)

Is it possible to customize the case numbers on a per project basis.

I'd like (especially if I have multiple customers logging cases on multiple projects) to have each project have it's own case counter and be prefixed by some identifying code. (similar to how JIRA works).

e.g.

E.g. if someone creates a new milestone (say, "2.4.1 Lighspeed") in project "Pendulum", I'd like to receive an e-mail.

Feature Request: Remove relations (links) between cases

I have cases linked to my case in the see also section. I want to remove the links. How do I do it?

One use case for removing a relation is using Case Event Edit to fix the text of a bugevent. When I incorrectly type in 'case x' where I meant to enter 'case y', If I then edit the post, It adds the new relation to y. I would assume the link to case x would be removed as well.

So I learned that writing "case XXX" in a case causes them to be linked via "See also". However, I can't figure out how to unlink them. I've edited the original text and deleted the reference to the case, but in "see also" it is still linked :(.

Dear All,

I'm using the trial version and for a few weeks I have an issue. When I send an email to cases@cellco.fogbugz.com I get an error message.

Widening cases view doesn't persist

I had this working for a long time, I'm on FF 5.0, but now it is not being remembered. The only thing that has changed - is that IE 9.0 was installed. It looks like IE 9.0 is not remembering it either.

Others in my team had mentioned this issue, but never been able to reproduce until now.

Any ideas on what I need to do to get this working again?

Why dont you guys have a "comment" button in cases rather than "edit". This mayb just be a personal preference by me, but it just seems more natural :/

When you hovered the mouse over the main area of the new case page, older versions of FogBugz displayed a yellow box with instructions on the proper information to include in a bug report:

This was helpful for users (thought it assumed every case was a bug). FogBugz now includes a much shorter hint:

Feature Request: Prompt user "Did you mean to send an email?" when case edit looks like one

Sometimes we've added notes to a case which are supposed to be an email to the correspondent. The note often goes along the lines of "Hi John, Regarding this case...". It's only when John gets in touch about the case to find out what's going on that you see what has been done.

In much the same way as Thunderbird reminds you about attaching a file when you include the word "attached" or "CV" in an email, maybe Fogbugz could do the same.

Is is possible to dictate where your plugin GUI elements get placed on the bug display form? It seems to append them at the end of all the other elements in a given section.

We are adding a new drop-down menu that affects what projects a user can select, so it would be nice if we could put it before the existing project menu. Thank you for any help or advice you can provide.

Not all our testers are developers, and some provide rather poor bug reports / feature requests etc. I would like, and therefore suggest, a simple way to let a reporter know if his/her case is good or not.

I think the simplest, easiest way to do this is to add vote up/down-buttons (stackexchange-style!) to the view case-interface. When seeing which reports are voted up and which are voted down, the quality of bug reports should steadily increase without us developers having to bitch to our testers.

On the default grid view, if I expand my browser's width, I tend to end up with a lot of unused space. It would be great if I could select a field, such as "Title" to dynamically expand to fill that area.

I would add that I should be able to specify a minimum width for it as well. This way, if I were to reduce the browser's width, there would be a point (the minimum width) where it would stop shrinking and the page would be given a horizontal scrollbar, as some content would be forced off the page.

FogBugz used to display a tooltip when one hovered over the main body field of the new case page. It reminded the user of the elements of a good bug report (repro steps, expected result, actual result). This was removed because the assumption that every case is a bug report is not correct.

Can I set some default text to be put in the actual text field for this type of reminder? It should be configurable per-category so I can have bug-report elements for bugs, my preferred details for a feature request, etc.

right now it's not possible to set multiple estimates at once via a multi-edit. However, all the other fields that appear on the left-hand side are settable.

Can the Estimate field be added to this list of fields that can be set during a multi-case edit?
