This only happens when one or more of the subcases are in a different project than the parent case.

Error details are below:

Message: Object expected Line: 3 Char: 36534 Code: 0 URI: https://xxxxx.fogbugz.com/staticJS.asp?sFiles=27,28,29,30,31&lang=en-US&20110103102704

Case FC2000619

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/6608/page-reloading-priority-not-updating-with-project-backlog-plugin-when-case-has/6609#6609 Answer by db for Page reloading / priority not updating with Project Backlog plugin when case has subcases db 2011-01-12T21:59:28Z 2011-01-13T20:52:09Z
That's definitely a bug. Thanks for reporting it!

The problem has to do with backlog cases that have one or more subcases that belong to a different project than the parent case (i.e., the one that is in the backlog).

We have opened a case internally to fix this, but in the meantime, you can work around this by viewing your filter in "Grid View - Flat" mode:

You won't be able to see subcases in this view, but the up/down arrows should work properly.
