In this question, Jason points out the fact that the <s>dopey</s> kiwi icon is hard to see on dark backgrounds. I too prefer the "wave" icon, but Ben Kamens commented that the kiwi has gotten some positive feedback. How about pleasing everyone and allowing us to select our own favicon?

Longer version:

The "wave" icon you're referring to is actually part of the Fog Creek Software logo:

For a long time Fog Creek only had one web application: FogBugz. So, at the time, it made sense just to use the Fog Creek logo for the FogBugz favicon.

When we added Kiln, we wanted to distinguish the two products, and so just as FogBugz had adopted the kiwi as its mascot (and logo), Kiln adopted the dodo bird. As a result, Kiln uses a dodo for its favicon and now FogBugz uses a kiwi for its favicon:

You'll still see the "wave" favicon when you're on "Fog Creek Platform" pages such as the Site Configuration page. This is because these pages have to do with both FogBugz and Kiln.

Anyway, like Rob said, it's a good suggestion. I just hope it might seem a little less dopey with some background information. :)
