JohnFx 2012-04-19T16:51:39Z 2012-09-26T22:17:09Z
I've got a workaround for this and it only happens infrequently, but I thought I'd post about this to see if anyone else is experiencing this, and/or if this is a known issue in FogBugz.

Setup:
FogBugz Local install on Windows using Active Directory authentication.

Symptom:
Every now and then (maybe 2-3 times a year) no one seems to be able to log into our FogBugz site with their AD credentials. Users who have clicked "Remember me" seem to be able to access the site just fine, but if anyone clicks the logout button they lose the ability to log back in.

Workaround:
Recycling the IIS App pool for the site always seems to fix the problem immediately.

Any ideas on what might cause this strange behavior? Maybe FB is caching some stale LDAP information that is refreshed when the site is reloaded?

Case FC2266331

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/10292/intermittent-ldap-login-issues-any-idea-on-the-cause/10294#10294 Answer by db for Intermittent LDAP Login Issues - Any idea on the cause? db 2012-04-19T17:17:41Z 2012-04-19T17:17:41Z
I've filed a case to look into this and updated your question with our internal tracking number.
http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/10292/intermittent-ldap-login-issues-any-idea-on-the-cause/10310#10310 Answer by Derrick Miller for Intermittent LDAP Login Issues - Any idea on the cause? Derrick Miller 2012-04-23T17:48:05Z 2012-04-23T17:48:05Z
Each time a user logs into FogBugz it queries the Active Directory server. FogBugz does not cache any kind of authentication with Active Directory. At this time, the issue is not a currently known issue nor have we had any other reports. I recommend ensuring your FogBugz application pool is restarted after an upgrade as your workaround suggests. If this issue reoccurs, it would be helpful to get the full website debug logs by setting nLogThreshold to 20 while reproducing the issue and sending the log to FogCreek.
http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/10292/intermittent-ldap-login-issues-any-idea-on-the-cause/10822#10822 Answer by Ian Anderson for Intermittent LDAP Login Issues - Any idea on the cause? Ian Anderson 2012-09-26T22:17:09Z 2012-09-26T22:17:09Z
Just had this happen to us as well. Never had it happen before in 5 years of use. Restarting the AppPool fixed the issue.
