Distinguish between multiple attachments of the same name - FogBugz Knowledge Exchange most recent 30 from http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com 2013-05-21T16:27:09Z http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/feeds/question/10245 http://www.creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/rdf http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/10245/distinguish-between-multiple-attachments-of-the-same-name Distinguish between multiple attachments of the same name Adrian Ludwin 2012-04-05T16:51:06Z 2012-07-26T21:09:46Z
I've occasionally found it convenient to use one large post to summarize a lot of information and just keep editing that post as changes come up. These posts also tend to have supplemental information I want to attach - a spreadsheet of results, say, or a Word document with more background. I often update these attachments as well.

The problem is that if you upload multiple attachments with the same name (eg, an updated version of the same file), all versions show up but without any way to distinguish which is the newest and which is the oldest. While I've learned through experience that the bottom one is the newest (as opposed to my preference to display my newest posts at the top), it would be nice if they could be distinguished in some way.

Here's an example of a case where it would be really nice to know what's the most recent attachment:

For example, in addition to showing the size of the attachment, perhaps we could show the time and date it was uploaded (if the post has ever been revised). Or perhaps multiple attachments of the same name could have the earlier versions greyed out or deemphasized in some way.
http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/10245/distinguish-between-multiple-attachments-of-the-same-name/10643#10643 Answer by Adrian Ludwin for Distinguish between multiple attachments of the same name Adrian Ludwin 2012-07-26T15:20:37Z 2012-07-26T21:09:46Z
As Michel pointed out in the comments, you can delete existing attachments. That should be good enough for most cases.
